Scot and Kristi RedmanDuring New York Fashion Week, underwear and apparel brand Marco Marco’s Collection Seven joined forces with beauty brands, including Wildform, for what resulted in a standing ovation during the finale of NYFW's first-ever line-up of all transgender models.
Featuring a diverse roster of 34 models all sharing a unique trans experience, each trans-woman was outfitted with a custom-made Wildform wig, colored with oVertone color conditioners. The cast included actresses, TV, and YouTube personalities such as Pose series’ Dominique Jackson and Angelica Ross, RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Carmen Carrera , and viral make-up artist GiGi Gorgeous, showcasing a range of looks.
"To be a part of this epic moment in history brings me joy,” says Wildform co-founder Cesar Ramirez. “I’m proud to support the many brilliant women who I’ve known and seen grow over the years into activists, changing the world so it sees humanity as one beautiful being.”
Prior to the show, the stylist team of 15 hairdressers prepped wigs and devoted thoughtful love and intention into each look, and taking each model’s unique personality into careful consideration. Each look was completed with Living Proof’s wide range of styling products to bring their Wildform to life. Designer Marco Morante’s bold and playfully unconventional style perfectly aligns with Wildform’s mission to embrace every face regardless of gender, background or orientation.
Founded on the mission to shatter the stigma behind wigs, and outdated ideals of beauty, Wildform hopes this show helped to shatter more than one stigma that evening. From the palpable positivity and excitement behind the scenes, to the standing ovation at the show’s finale, the brand says the intersection of fashion and beauty is looking more inclusive than ever.
