Seamless color has always been desirable and colorists today are utilizing multiple techniques to create that perfect blend.Truss Professional Brand Ambassador Philip Foresto demonstrates how he uses teasing, feathering and smudging to create a beautiful dimensional blonde.

Foresto says that most of his clients come to the Blanc Beauty Bar in New Orleans looking for dimensional color, mostly in the blonde family.

“Lots of honey shades, caramel and, of course, blonde blonde,” he says. “But that look is best and more modern when it seamlessly cascades without any line of demarcation. Today it’s all about blend, and the best way to achieve that blend is through a combination of techniques.”

That combination— teasing, feathering and smudging—has become the Truss Professional signature blonding technique to prevent any harsh lines.

“The technique is enhanced and made dimensional along the lengths by utilizing the natural hair shade as a lowlight,” Foresto says. “The lighter areas naturally ‘pop’ in a softer way. Today it’s all about blend, and the best way to achieve that blend is through a combination of techniques.”
