Don’t think it’s possible to give your client a style and color makeover in 15 minutes? Think again.

We enlisted three members of MODERN SALON’s Artist Connective created completely new looks and color effects using The Band from Hotheads Hair Extensions.

The Band is a one-size-fits-all accessory made from 100% Remy human hair that lies naturally on the head for a flawlessly blended look. It comes with a stretchable elastic weft for simple application. The Band is available in 14-16 inch and 18-20 inch, and in 20 shades including naturals, blends and Colormelts.

Jennifer LoPiccolo (@jenniferlopiccolo_hair) custom colored The Band and transformed her client’s purple mid-lengths and ends to a multi-colored nebula of cotton-candy inspired hues. LoPiccolo custom colored The Band to fi t with her aesthetic of vibrant hues and bright creative-color creations.

To color The Band, LoPiccolo used a light brown/ natural shade with 10-volume developer, balayaging the ends with a cream lightener and 20-volume developer. She dried it and then used five vibrant hues with a bond builder for added integrity.

“It took me 15 minutes to change up [my model’s] look,” LoPiccolo wrote on Instagram.

Meg Stringham (@stylingwithmeg) utilized The Band to accentuate her romantic, bohemian-inspired styles to add volume and length. The light blonde color she used blended perfectly with her model’s existing color. Stringham says The Band is an easy way to elevate a style, and add natural length and volume to hair quickly.

When testing out The Band, Katie DeLuca (@hairbykatied) applied it to her own hair. She wanted to feel how comfortable it is and experience its ease of application.

“I seriously cannot believe how light and comfortable this is,” she wrote on Instagram. “It’s so easy to apply and styles just like regular hair.”

You know this @hotheadshairextensions Band is good if I’m posting a picture of myself! @modernsalon I chopped my VERY long hair VERY short back in April. Loved it for a while, but now I want my long locks back. I have a band of temporary hair extensions in my hair. Can you tell?? This seriously feels like there is nothing in my hair. Scroll back a little to see my tutorial video on what it looks like and how to properly put it on! • • • • • #hotheadshairextensions #tapeinextensions #ad #hairextensions #tapeins #hotheadssocialsquad #artistconnective #tapeextensions #clipinextensions #fishtailbraid #fishtail #fishtailbraids #dutchbraids #dutchbraid #dutchfishtail #braidsofinstagram #braidsfordays #braidedhairstyles #braidcreativity #braided #braiding #hairpiece #braidtrends #beyondtheponytail #braidinglife #hairstylistlife #imallaboutdahair #hairinspiration #clevelandhairstylist

The Band is the extension for your non-extension client. It stretches snug to the head, making it stay put but not
feel too tight. The Band can be worn on days your clients want long hair and is easily removed and stored.

When retailing The Band to your clientele, first let her try one on (it’s good to keep samples on-hand) or remove
your own for a dramatic reveal and demonstrate how quickly it can be applied. Before the client leaves your chair, walk her through how to put it on at home.

HOW TO APPLY THE BAND
1. After brushing and styling hair, part hair. This will make blending The Band easier.
2. Place The Band on the crown. It should rest about two inches from the hairline. Allow the weft to fall naturally between the ears at the occipital.
3. Using the end of a tail comb, gently pull the natural hair over the hairband to blend.
4. Continue this around the head until the band is completely covered and seamless blended.
