Made Up in Marsala

Redefine your client’s look with Pantone’s 2015 Color of the Year.

Deliciously warm and universally appealing, marsala is the must-have hue of 2015. Much like the Sicilian cooking wine that gives marsala its name, this tasteful shade, announced as the 2015 Color of the Year by Pantone, embodies sophistication, richness and natural earthiness. “Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embracing warmth,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director for the Pantone Color Institute, a company best-known for its color matching in the printing industry.

Flattering against most skin tones, subtle and sultry marsala is a great “go-to” for beauty. Rock the shade with all-over haircolor or swipe it on the cheeks, lips and nails for a captivating pop of color. “There is a richness about marsala that makes it very appealing,” says Aveda Global Artistic Director Janell Geason“It’s commercial, very wearable, but on trend.”
