Ahead of Aveda’s 40th anniversary this fall, the brand will be relaunching one of its first products. In 1978, Horst Rechelbacher launched Aveda with a handful of shampoos and one conditioner: Cherry Almond Bark. The conditioner was a fan favorite for 30 years and was discontinued just over a decade ago.
Now, the conditioner is back with a shorter name, Cherry Almond, an improved formula and a shampoo to go with it. Naturally derived cherry blossom extract and sweet almond oil come together to help restore softness and shine. The shampoo features gentle babassu and coconut-derived ingredients to gently cleanse hair. The conditioner’s certified organic coconut oil and shea butter help to deeply condition the hair. The collection is 98% naturally derived and silicone-free.
The Cherry Almond collection offers a modern twist on an Aveda classic featuring the heritage Aveda Cherry Almond Bark aroma.
“With a mixture of fruitiness and a floral sweetness, the playfulness of this aroma makes it very different from other Aveda aromas. This bright, joyful, pretty aroma embodies a carefree but close to nature aura,” said Guy Vincent, Aveda Head of Aveda Pure-Fume™ Aroma.
The 100% naturally derived* pure-fume™ aroma has been crafted with 38 plant and flower essences. Tonka bean, a seed from the kumaru tree, creates a sweet, creamy vanilla note, paired with certified organic ylang-ylang, from flowers grown in Madagascar, which provide a light tropical floral aroma. Certified organic orange adds to the sweet, juicy and fruity note, and Benzoin Resin creates a sweet balsam vanilla resinous note.
