"The WetBrush's Flex Dry Brush or the Pro Detangling Comb are my new faves for "brush outs," aka curls that have set and cooled into shape and are ready to be brushed out to loosen the curls, creating a softer, more lived-in beach wave," Malek says.

Loose waves, a gorgeous color melt and a seamless-looking braid to top it off are the perfect recipe for a style that warrants festival-season fun. Leave it to Artist Connective member Neal Malek (@nealmhair) to create just that.

We had Malek take WetBrush's new pro collection and new designs for a spin, and he tells us his favorites from the line to achieve "brushed out" beach waves.

The new collection combines WetBrush’s signature detangling technology - the IntelliFlex bristles, shine boar bristles and WaveTooth design - with a professional grip for even better detangling. Each brush has an ergonomically advanced design, which features finger rests and rubberized EasyGrip handle for more comfort and control even when hands are wet.

The Flex Dry contains HeatFlex heat-resistant bristles gently detangle while blowdrying. And the Pro Detangling Comb features a WaveTooth design that distributes hair evenly across teeth to prevent clumping, snagging and breakage.

Here, Malek shares how to recreate this boho look.

GET THE LOOK:
STEP 1: Curl hair with a wand. Malek recommends alternating your curl pattern to give a more boho/lived-in look.
STEP 2: Let curls cool and use a texturizing spray or hairspray for hold.
STEP 3: Use a WetBrush to gently brush out curls. Spray again with a texturizing spray.
STEP 4: Create one of your favorite braids on each side of your head starting at around the temple or just above it. Meet each braid in the back and either join the into one braid or twist them around each other, making a rope braid, and secure with an elastic. Finish with texturizing spray.
