Specialty: Hair Extensions and hair color

Top-performing post: My most viral post was a video where I took my pregnant model from a solid brunette to a full balayage without any use of chemicals. I used tape-in extensions in alternating shades to create a full balayage ombré. It was for sure one of my absolute favorite transformations I’ve ever done. The use of extensions for color is one of my favorites as it’s also commitment free. I think the post went viral because of the contrast in the before and after. I feel my most dramatic transformations got the most traction— that video collectively gathered more than 1,000,000 views across all platforms.

Favorite apps: Facetune - I like to ensure my clients always look and feel their best in my content that sometimes includes a little complexion perfection. Plann - I like to know what my layout of my page will look like prior to posting. Although I don’t consider myself to be too layout focused, I do like to know it won’t look over cluttered with the same color. PicPlayPost is my favorite for video editing. It makes adding music easy and cutting clips together a breeze

Pro tip: Natural lighting! Natural lighting cannot ever be beat. There is something about the warmth that truly draws the viewer in. Face forward! I find my best performing posts are with my models face featured. A smile doesn’t hurt either. The caption: write something that engages the audience. I like to ask a question or make a bold statement to get attention and evoke a comment response.

Hidden talent: I can apply my lashes without looking.

Fun fact: I’m very handy. Most people don’t know that my father gas 30 years in construction, and I worked quite a number of summers with him. I can swing a hammer better than I can set a perm rod.

My audience follows me because: For my authenticity. I try to always keep it real. I post on my best and worst days and always try to share my lows to let others know they’re not alone. I think mental health is an important subject that isn’t talked about enough in our industry. I never shy away from sharing my struggles with depression and anxiety. It sucks, but we can all support one another as a community and get through it together.

How social media changed my life: It has given me a whole family of people I would have never otherwise known. We build each other up and support one another’s art. That has forever changed my life.

My first @modernsalon feature: My first Modern feature was two years ago while at The ABS CHICAGO hair show. We were walking off the show floor as one of my blonde client’s photo was reposted on MODERN. I was with my team, Vicki, Alicia and Jac, as I learned the news, and I jumped up and down and cried. They were so excited for me, and I was beyond excited. Having a reputable platform like MODERN SALON recognize my work means a lot to me. It means my art is understood and appreciated, and it’s amazing to have it shared with the MODERN audience. I still get chills with every repost.
