"Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band." This stunning color result from Hailey Mahone certainly has us feeling nostalgic. The Texarkana, Arkansas colorist is known for her bright vibrants and muted pastels. This client came to Mahone looking to change up her ultra-platinum looks for something a bit more fun.
Mahone was able to give her client just that, thanks to Alfaparf Milano. The brand's Revolution Direct Color allows Mahone to achieve beautiful variety without compromising the health of the hair, which was another main concern of her client. She says the number one feature she loves is that the product is true to tone.
“They have such a creamy consistency,” she says. “I know that whether I’m using them for a natural shade or a bold color, I can count on that.”
She also says the pastels have enough pigment that they aren’t too opaque but still a true sheer pastel.

The client was already prelightened to a very white level 10. "I like to call it a level 11," Mahone says. "However, she was really wanting to give her hair a break and get away from global blondes... but still have fun. The goal was to have a smoky baby blue color that mirrored a faded denim look."
- Working off her natural root, Mahone mixed together 50g Pastel Blue + 50g Pastel Grey + 10g Pastel Violet.
- She processed for 30 minutes and rinsed with cold water.
- Condition with Alfaparf’s reparative mask.
