Floyd's 99, the hair-cutting and shave shop, rolls out its annual partnership with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), the leading global organization dedicated to funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.

The cause hits close to home and became near and dear to Floyd’s 99 after Founder, Paul O’Brien’s daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 2012. Since the diagnosis, the Floyd’s 99 family has been dedicated to leading the charge in helping the JDRF with their fundraising initiatives. To date, the company has helped raise more than $1million with an additional goal of $250,000 this year.

Throughout the month of August, patrons can donate $5 to the JDRF at any Floyd’s shop and in return will receive a Floyd’s coupon booklet (valued at $35) as a thank you. The discounts within the booklet include: a complimentary massage and shampoo, $5 off any shave, $5 off any grey blending, $3 off any haircut, $10 off a deep conditioning treatment and 25% off Floyd’s grooming products or 15% off other retail brands. There is no limit to the amount of coupon books customers can purchase. Donations exceeding $5 are welcome and appreciated. As with every charitable donation, participants may add this to their annual tax return. All coupons can be redeemed in-shop from September 1 – October 31, 2019.

“We are proud to once again partner with the JDRF,” said cofounder, Paul O’Brien. “A barbershop is a staple in a neighborhood. We want to do more than operate a business in the community, we want to be a part of each community we serve. We know that a lot of our clients are impacted by [T1D] and know firsthand how stressful it can be. We will continue to support the organization until they accomplish their goal.”

The O’Brien brothers opened the doors to their first shop in Denver in 1999, with a focus on providing exemplary service in a welcoming environment. Their passion for service and experience has helped shape Floyd’s 99 and its staff. Along with their array of services, Floyd’s also offers their own retail line of grooming products.
