Stylist Derek Cash (@derekcashstyles) is known for his blonding and extension work. He married his two areas of expertise for this incredible total transformation.

Cash likes to highlight the contrast of his blondes by making the background of the photos darker, as he did here, which creates a blurry halo around some of the hair. With a darker background, the blondes can really pop that much more.

Here, Cash shares how he completely madeover his client's hair.

STEP 1: "I touched up her roots with Pravana 6n 6a 20 vol to get rid of the greys," Cash says.
STEP 2: "Using 20 vol and Kenra Simply Blonde, I foilyaged, leaving thin slices out."
STEP 3: "I hit the hair that was left out with Redken Shades EQ 8n 8gi."
STEP 4: "After the color was finished, I installed 20 inch Bellami extensions," Cash says. "I custom colored them rooting with Redken 5n5g, melting into mids 8n8gi and ends 9gi. I installed another row behind that of straight blonde to give a highlight and lowlight effect. The Bellami Volume Weft comes as 3 staggered wefts in 1, but I broke it down into 2 due to the fine density of my client's hair."
