Deadline alert! There are only a few days left to enter the Professional Beauty Association’s (PBA) Beacon 2020 Program, culminating in a three-day live experience in January 2020 at the Long Beach Convention Center, alongside the International Salon + Spa Expo (ISSE) and the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA).

PBA’s Beacon is an elite program for students that provides 350 top beauty industry students a unique opportunity to connect with mentors, get inspired, gain career insights—and work with influencers and owners from the most successful salons across the United States.

This educational opportunity is designed to inspire upcoming young professionals with an experience that’s fun, uplifting and creative that kickstarts their beauty careers by learning from the best in the industry.

Beacon was initially developed to prepare cosmetology students for a career in the salon and connect them to salon owners who were looking for top talent,” says PBA Education and Training Manager Leslie Perry. “Over the years it has evolved into an intensive leadership training experience that has a profound impact on students. We often hear from our participants that the program changed their lives. Our goal with Beacon is to help cosmetology students realize the vast opportunities a career in the beauty industry creates and to then provide them with the skills and tools they need to design a successful path forward.”

Some notable Beacon Program alumni include Mitchell Cantrell, Gina Bianca and Elizabeth Faye, who are all successful influencers and educators. Both Bianca and Faye will be at ISSE 2020, and making an appearance at Beacon.

To apply, students must submit their resume, a video introduction, Instagram portfolio, and a letter of recommendation through PBA’s application portal at www.probeauty.org/beacon. Entry closes on September 15th, 2019.

Applications are considered by a panel of industry judges, including salon and spa owners, manufacturers, and distributors. The acceptance announcement will be on October 7th, 2019 and shared on the PBA Facebook page www.facebook.com/professionalbeautyassociation and at probeauty.org/beacon.
