FEARLESS! BOLD! DARING! Those are the words used to describe INTREPID, the new couture collection created by Goldwell’s Creative Team which was introduced recently in Vienna, Austria, at Global Zoom 2019.

There are many unexpected twists and turns in the collection. Colors merge and melt from dark to light and from soft to strong. The big word for the overall tone is “oxygenated” - a subtle finish created by clever placement and creative formulations. The cuts are sophisticated and gender neutral enhanced by hidden disconnections and multi-layered exteriors. There’s a very 70’s feel to the collection, but updated with modern twists. Together, the colors and silhouettes result in a refined and elegant collection that is both strong and sophisticated at the same time.

The collection was well received by the 3000 international salon pros in attendance at the Global Zoom event. “For 2020 it was time to expand our inspiration for our stylists,” John Moroney, VP Creative and Communication says. “Our HAIR / COLOR / STYLE statement encompasses all of Goldwell – from commercial to couture. We have been working with some of the world’s foremost fashion and trend experts to bring you a comprehensive style statement for the upcoming year – the kind of information you need to not only stay ahead of the latest fashion, but to go beyond it.”

INTREPID was created by the Goldwell Creative Team along with Nushka Barbosa, Roos Topley and Lieke Nijenkamp, Global Winners of the Color Zoom Challenge 2018 and Color Zoom Hall of Fame recipient Neil Barton. The group met earlier this year in Amsterdam for an inspiring workshop resulting in the collection. “INTREPID is the conceptual elevation of our Hair / Color / Style statement,” Moroney continues. “The idea of being brave and fearless is what inspired us to move our couture collection into a more fashion runway look.” Moroney points out that the resulting collection demonstrates his feeling about the hair professional. “Hairstylists today are more than just stylists of hair. Hairstylists are the original influencers. Salon clients look to their stylist every season for their professional opinion about what is new in hair fashion what the latest colors and the newest styles are.”

When it comes to the collection, Moroney believes the team hit the mark. “The colors, cuts, styling and wardrobe are all incredibly strong statements in both hair and clothing fashion. Our team embraced the challenge to make a new, bold statement and INTREPID is the result.”
