MODERN met with Lozano at a Great Lengths event  where he was sharing best practices with New York City area artists interested in learning more from the master educator.

Here he shares his top three:

DENSITY: Make sure you are adding the amount that fits the head of hair. “You don’t want to have a client with a fine roots and then unnatural density at the ends.”

COLOR: You want to make sure the color matches what the client has. “Especially from the root area,” Lozano says. “You can add dimension along the lengths, adding high or low lights with your color selection.”

PLACEMENT: Make sure the extensions blend. “You want to match what she has naturally, blending in to the desired result,” adds Lozano.

BONUS TIPS: Lozano shares his tricks to making extensions last: "Shampoo gently in the bonded area, keep the bonds dry during application and limit heat to the bonded areas."
