If you specialize in styling, it’s probably happened before: a client longing to have a swoon-worthy hair from Instagram recreated on their own head. The problem? The client’s current color doesn’t have the same depth and dimension as the model’s they’ve screenshot.
With Moroccanoil’s Color-Depositing masks, stylists can give clients instant gratifi cation with color results that will not only blend beautifully but will also condition the hair. The collection deposits pure pigments along with the benefi ts of a deep-conditioning mask. The seven temporary shades—Champagne, Platinum, Hibiscus, Aquamarine, Rose Gold, Bordeaux and Cocoa—are designed to enhance color vibrancy, refresh existing tones or allow for experimentation while helping to restore the hair.
Updo specialists Caralee Pridemore, Krystle Waivio and Natalie Thomas quickly noticed the benefits of offering the masks to their clients.
“I turn to the Color-Depositing masks when I want to add pops of color to my clients upstyles,” Thomas says. “They know it’s only temporary, so it’s a great way to get them to experiment before committing long term.”
Wavio says the masks add luminosity to clients who already have balayage.
“For clients who have darker color with minimal highlights, the masks work to enhance the hair in two ways,” she says. “The balayaged areas are toned, and the natural hair is enhanced with so much shine.”
Pridemore used the masks in three different shades for pops of color. She applied Cocoa from the base through the midlengths, and mixed Aquamarine and Bordeaux for the midlengths through the ends. For contrast she also added blonde extensions that she colored the same way but show the shades with more vibrance.
