FilmMagicOn July 1st in Los Angeles, country singing star LeAnn Rimes headlined the Friend Movement Benefit Concert at the El Rey Theatre. Joico sponsored the concert, a benefit to support Friend Movements anti-bullying efforts, and Joico Celebrity Stylist George Papanikolas was on hand to style her hair before the show.
The hot California night called for a relaxed style. Rimes requested sexy beach waves and here's how Papanikolas obliged:
STEP ONE: He applied Joico JoiWhip Firm Hold Design Foam to her damp hair.
STEP TWO: He then dried her strands completely with an oval styling brush, and used a round brush to curve and shape her bangs. Then he divided her hair into vertical sections and twirled each one around a 1 ½-inch curling iron, clipping each curl in place until her hair cooled completely.
STEP THREE: He misted Joico Texture Boost Dry Spray Wax on his fingertips and pinched the ends of each section of hair to create texture and control. “When you have finer hair it’s essential to use a foam to add some volume and control, while the texturizing spray gives the added texture for that perfect beachy look, just right for her hair type,” said Papanikolas.
STEP FOUR: A final spray of Joico Power Spray Fast Dry Finishing Spray ensured all-night hold.
Friend Movement was created to help show positive anti-bully images through art and media, using images of people of all ages, race, gender, sexuality, and spirituality that invoke inspiration and conversation. It inspires people to prevent bullying by enabling them to be a better friend. For more information, visit www.friendmovement.com.
