PREMIERE ORLANDO: How To Create the Perfect Sideburn

Lauren Salapatek | June 1, 2013 | 7:03 PM

Should sideburns be even? No! They should APPEAR to be even, says Clipper Guy Ivan Zoot during his "This is NOT Your Grandpa's Baber Shop" presentation at Premiere Orlando 2013. See this quick video where he shows you how to create the perfect sideburn and how to properly clean/cut around the ear.

"It's very rare to find someone that's truly bilaterally symmetrical," says Zoot. "The same goes with sideburns. Do you know who the only bilaterally symmetrical person is? Denzel Washington! Believe it or not his features are even on both the left and right sides of his head. But, with most clients they are slightly uneven. When this happens, always use the shorter sideburn as a guide. Here, I am going to show you the proper technique you should follow when creating clean sideburns on your clients."

Everything You Need to Know About the Goldwell Color Zoom Competition

Alison Alhamed | October 1, 2017

Color Zoom 101: Every year, Goldwell releases a trend collection that is used as the inspiration for its annual haircolor and style competition, Color Zoom. Across the globe, Color Zoom starts on a national level. Beauty pros compete in three categories— Creative Colorist, New Talent Colorist, Partner Colorist—by submitting a photo of their interpretation of the trend. Once the Gold winners of each category are determined on a national level, they go on to compete internationally on behalf of their respective countries during a live recreation of the look on their model—including the hair color—in front of a judging panel and audience. The international leg of the competition takes place in a new city each year.
