Laurent Dufourg, owner of the iconic Privé Salons, based in Los Angeles, announced that his son Chelby Dufourg and daughter-in-law Simone Dufourg are joining him as partners in the salons. Both were instrumental in launching the Melrose Place salon and will also manage the Los Angeles salon.

Chelby Dufourg grew up in his father’s salon and began formal training in Paris at the age of 18. After developing an allergy to hair color, he joined his father at the Melrose Place salon to work the front desk. Simone joined the salon and, along with Laurent recruited some of the country’s top hairdressing talent, including Andy Lecompte, Kim Vo, Leanne Citrone, Michael Canali and others. They also launched Privé Salons in New York and Florida.

Chelby and Simone plan to re-energize the Privé salons with additions that include The Privé Patio for express services like braids, ponies and blow outs on the salon’s back patio and a Fringe Bar for color matched clip on bangs.

“I am excited about this partnership,” says Dufourg. “There are no two people I trust more to carry on the Privé name and help bring us into the future. This will help free up my time to focus more on the product development side as well as education and building relationships with Privé salons around the world. “

”I am proud to become a partner and focus on bringing new talent and new ideas, specifically to our Los Angles location, I am excited for the next generation of Privé,” says Chelby Dufourg.
