Gregory Patterson, blowpro lead stylist has been touring the world offering the latest in blow dry education, but along the way...HE is picking up some tips. On a recent visit in Sweden, Patterson admits he had an AHA moment when he saw an artist create a perfect S Wave with a flat iron. "He simply pushed and pulled while tapping the iron on the section," says Patterson. "It was so simple and effective. It created this beautiful S Wave in seconds."

Patterson offered Modern a demo while helping to launch the new Sedu Diamond flat iron. "It sure helps to be working with a perfect iron," says Patterson. "This is my new favorite tool."

Step 1: Take a one inch section and pull out from the head. Take a one inch flat iron (Patterson uses the Sedu Diamond) and place at the base of the section, holding just off scalp.

Step 2: Clamp the iron as you push and pull the section pressing into the S shape.

Step 3: Work to the end of the section, pushing, pulling and clamping to set the shape.

Step 4: The S Wave, created in seconds.

In this short video (less than 2 minutes) Patterson shows HOW TO create the perfect vintage S wave.
