Tom Pecheux is a superstar in the make up world. The beauty press crowds around him, hoping to get just a moment, so imagine my surprise when he granted Modern an exclusive interview while taking a break during the Derek Lam SS2014 collection. Knowing it was a wonderful opportunity and that I would get just one shot, I asked what aspiring make up artists want to know: What does one have to do to BE a superstar. In his 2 minute answer, Pecheux offers great advice for every beauty professional: "Be patient, persevere and practice."
"There really is no recipe," he says. "You have to believe it. I'm still learning. Learn how to be humble and work for someone else. Keep your ego in your pocket. All that takes time to learn, so be patient."
