ROSETTE CLUSTERby Nogodar Martinez for Aquage Try it: Take an arc-shaped section from the top of the head to the left ear and split the section into two. Create a rope pattern by crossing the right section over the left until reaching the ends. Find a thin strand from the ends, hold the hair between the thumb and index finger and slide the hair upward toward the base of the rope to form a rosette. Pin the rosette, and repeat the technique across the head with equal-sized sections until you reach the opposite side. Mist with Finishing Spray and Beyond Shine. |

MERRY BOUFFANTby Lucie Doughty for Paul Mitchell Try it: Begin with a side part on the left. Then create a triangle section starting from the right temple and connecting with the part at the crown. On the left side, section hair behind the ear and clip away. At the back, take the remaining hair and create a smooth ponytail. After the sectioning is complete, begin backcombing the ponytail in small sections while misting with Extra-Body Finishing Spray to add control. Smooth the surface of the ponytail, pin a hairnet into the band, cover the tail and roll the pony into a chignon. Release the front left section, backcomb, smooth over the chignon and pin in place. Return to the top section and backcomb the inside for a strong foundation. Smooth, lift up and back, and pin where the section meets the top of the chignon. Use Extra-Body Finishing Spray to hold the style. To see detailed steps, visit modernsalon.com.
