Personal Style: Sacha Quarles
My hair right now: Conservative, short and tight, clean and neat, a little bit longer on top. I'm not out there trying to make a statement. To give myself a little edge, I do different things with my facial hair, but I really try to keep my personal presentation more professional.
My hair color story: My color is natural! It's dark brown with a funky gray streak-a family trait.
My style: I like to think of my look as "professional with playfulness." I'll wear blue jeans with Puma slip-ons and a French-cut shirt. Kind of all over the place, but always professional. If anything, I overdress.
My ideal salon: I am in the middle of building my space, and I would have to describe it as "tight." It's all about organization. My goal is to make anyone visiting my space more at ease and relaxed. The more fantasy Zen, the better.
My favorite tools: I love my TGR 4000i blow dryer; I use my Hai mini pencil iron all the time; I don't go anywhere without Hot Tools marcel irons. I use I/M round brushes on just about every head for a perfect blow-out.
On my playlist: Everything from the Beatles to Elton John to Coldplay.
My inspiration: I love beauty. Nature. . . fashion. I see flowing movement, and I see hair. Women inspire me. I see someone beautiful and see how to make her better.
I'm a hairdresser because: My mom was a hair stylist, but I'm not one of those who played with hair as a kid. I sculpted at the University of Central Florida. After school, I was in a production office for film, but I was really bored with the business end and missed the "art." I went to beauty school, worked at a salon on Fifth Avenue, then did wigs for the New York City Opera. I was invited to do the hair for the Broadway show "Jekyll and Hyde," and it kind of snowballed from there.
