The International Salon and Spa Expo: California Dreaming
The International Salon and Spa Expo, slated for January 26-28 at the Long Beach Convention Center, offers a full range of education and shopping opportunities via guest artists, manufacturers’ exhibits and technical and fashion theaters. Advance tickets are available from Maly’s of California and at www.probeauty.org/isse.
While visiting Long Beach (California’s fifth largest city), take advantage of the weather – the city enjoys 345 days of sunshine per year and the average temperature in January is a balmy 67.
Rainbow Harbor, houses the The Pike, featuring a giant Ferris Wheel and 14-screen cinema complex; the Aquarium of the Pacific, home to more than 12,500 ocean animals (Shark Lagoon!); the Long Beach Arena, which boasts the world’s largest mural; Shoreline Village, a retail environment designed to look like a 19th century fishing village; and the Queen Mary, purchased by the city in 1967 and open to the public for walking the decks.
