The fashion world is predicting pale, bleached colors and gray-casted neutrals crossed with intense, flashy colors. How is this going to translate to hair color for your clients this season? Here are a few ideas to keep your clients’ looks updated without overdoing it.

Blondes: Do your blonde clients tend to be warm honey shades with bright platinum streaks woven through? This spring, try a cooler, more neutral blonde. Think vanilla and cream rather than honey and sunshine. This neutral shade of blonde is also more sophisticated and blends grays beautifully. It might be just the ticket for your mature clients.

Brunettes: Brown can be tricky when it comes to hair color. For your clients with warm brown tones, try going a bit darker with deep coffee shades as lowlights. A solid dark color will be a gorgeous contrast with the pale-hued clothing of the season. But beware, this dark shade usually works better on younger clients. For more mature clients, try blending subtle ash-brown highlights onto a chocolate base with a few streaks of vanilla to create a natural, neutral brown with depth.

Redheads: Red hair is going to be the perfect accessory for the pale creams, pinks and grays that rule the runway this season. For the more conservative client, keep it dark red with shades of chocolate running through to tone it down. For the bolder customer, weave in oranges, bright reds and even strawberry blonde to give her red shade plenty of pop.

Edgy: For your clients who crave every color of the rainbow, look to the runway once again. A bold streak of color on a neutral palette makes a statement and is easily changed on a regular basis. For a platinum blonde client, try a royal blue or grass green shade to liven up her usual look. For client with a darker base, weave in bright purple or canary yellow to make a statement.
