THE EVENT: The Aquage Academy Masterclass. THE VENUE: The Paris Theater, Miami Beach. 

THE DETAILS: Eighty hairdressers from around the country spent two days in August learning the new cutting trends from Eric Fisher, the latest in backcombing and up-dos from Ann Bray and how to create perfect images from Luis Alvarez. In addition to observing a photo shoot, the group learned about branding and imaging, diversion and retailing. The education continued into the  the evening with atttendees packing Eric Fisher's optional business class. 

THE BUZZ: According to Aquage founder and Vice President of Creative Luis Alvarez, "I want this academy to create an environment where other salon professionals can be inspired, learn, grow, and at the end of the day, become more successful both creatively and financially." Michael Van den Abbeel and Kiri Wollheim, owners of Mosaic Hair Studio in Orlando, said, "Oh, we got all that and more." 

THE LAST WORD: "We have to always put our best game forward," said Chelly Halterman from The Factory in Rapid City, South Dakota. "I believe that I have been given additional tools to make this happen. This was one of the best educational events I have ever attended."  Nikki Trowbridge of Statements in Woodridge, Virginia, said, "This was the biggest learning curve I have ever had. We have to learn to do better work. This course offered an elevated level of imagery and professionalism."
