ABS Goes Green

Alison Alhamed | July 10, 2011 | 7:25 PM

Cosmetologists Chicago, the salon professional association that produces America’s Beauty Show, has a deep commitment to sustainability—so it’s no surprise that ABS ‘09, March 28-30, 2009, will be held in downtown Chicago’s McCormick Place, the newest and “greenest” facility available in the U.S. for gatherings as large as ABS.

The perfect location for a green-friendly event, McCormick Place’s green garden roof is part of the larger, environmentally sensitive aspects of the building, which include high-efficiency heating and cooling systems, reduced water consumption and recycled building materials. The building even has LEED certification (the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council).

Through the years, ABS has tightly secured its reputation as the foremost beauty show in the world. This year, look to ABS to set an even higher standard for the way beauty professionals can do powerful business.
