THE DETAILS: 2,500 professional hairdressers and colorists from 42 countries arrived to this tapas-filled four days full of awards ceremonies, parties, Look ‘n' Learn seminars, launches, dinners, tours and a gala at the Hemispheric building at the City of Arts and Sciences. THE HIGHLIGHT: The Trend Zoom 2009 Collection was introduced with models showing "Virtualist" and Ecopolitan" designs. In January 2009, these looks will be offered to salon professionals with color and cut support.

THE CHALLENGE: 70 finalists from 26 countries were invited for the last leg of the Color Challenge competition to recreate looks from the 2008 collection. The winning looks were created by: Ken Hong Kok Yien, Singapore; Ioana Ecard, Germany; and Peter Wu, Taiwan. THE BUZZ: John Simpson, NAHA Colorist of the Year and Goldwell North American guest artist from Lewis Salon in Pittsburgh, said Goldwell Trend Zoom Valencia exceeded his expectations. "This event is not just good for the hairdressers involved, it is good for the salon and the clients. It's not really trend forecasting, it's more about trend emotion."

Mario Argenti, KPSS North America President and CEO, wanted guests to understand the Goldwell and KMS commitment to the professional industry. "When you sneeze, we get a cold," he said on the opening night of the event.
