Masello Salon Services of New England presents: Team Minardi
Masello Salon Services of New England presents: Team Minardi. THE VENUE: Providence Convention Center, Providence, Rhode Island.
THE DETAILS: Four hundred salon owners and stylists convened for a full day of Minardi education courtesy of Masello Salon Services of New England. Thirteen models were treated to dramatic onstage makeovers in a day of intense color-and-cut education. They knew they were in for a classic Beth Minardi event when she answered a question about using corn starch in color with: "Well, do you go to California in a covered wagon or a jet?" The attendees learned about how to get thick formulas through a small applicator bottle, how to fill and when to glaze. More complicated subjects included gray coverage and dealing with a yellow root. Dozens of formulas were offered, products were compared, and the latest foil wrapping technique was demonstrated. From Carmine Minardi, the group witnessed the latest techniques on razor and clipper cutting, learned how to deal with receding hair lines and how to create perfect geometric lines.
THE BUZZ: In the front row was Kate O'Neil, owner of C.H.S. of Narragansett, Rhode Island, and colleague Jeanine Reilly. They arrived a full hour early to make sure they got a great seat. "I was here last year and know how important this event is to my motivation and inspiration," said O'Neil. "We are education junkies and we know the value of advanced programs, particularly Minardi events." O'Neil and Reilly were still there as the stage was being dismantled.
THE LAST WORD: "The Minardis are visionaries," said Amy Sawyer, also of C.H.S. "It's fantastic to learn from experts without egos. I am inspired and can't wait to get back to the salon. I feel like I've been shot out of a cannon."
