At the Leadership Brunch held at America's Beauty Show (ABS), Cosmetologists Chicago President Luz Segovia and Paul Dykstra, CEO of America's Beauty Show, shared an exciting development-in 2010, the Global Salon Business Awards (GSBA) will join forces with ABS.

The brainchild of beauty industry icon and Redken founder Paula Kent Meehan, GSBA honors successful salons around the world.
"Many programs exist to acknowledge the creative artistry of the salon professional, but without business skills, creative artistry can not sustain our industry," says Meehan.

The GSBA and its adjunct business education Forum reward salons for business acumen and encourage stronger business skills. After three successful biennial award ceremonies in London, Barcelona and Hollywood, the GSBA is now established worldwide as a program to recognize the salon industry's contributions to the business world.

Dykstra noted that while plans for both the GSBA Education and Awards program are being finalized, several primary industry corporations have indicated their support of hosting GSBA in conjunction with ABS and America's Beauty Network.

Details of the 2010 GSBA program are online at americasbeautyshow.com.
