(Houston, Texas)– Farouk Shami was visiting with the Mayor of Laredo, Texas when he was notified of the tragic shootings that left 13 people dead and approximately 30 wounded in Fort Hood, Texas.  He immediately made a call to CEO Rami Shami and President Shauky Gulamani with a plan of action to respond to this catastrophe.  Executives gathered in Houston, Texas last night to make preparations to send care packages to the soldiers, families and hospitals affected by the horrific attack.
 
The Houston-based company is ready to distribute donations, estimated at more than $1 million dollars, to the military community and surrounding hospitals. Founder and Chairman Farouk Shami stated, “After the devastating rampage that occurred yesterday, Farouk Systems is ready to send truck loads of care packages to our soldiers and the families in need. We have been in contact with the Fort Hood American Red Cross and local hospitals that the victims were sent to in order to respond accordingly.  We are a company of action, and we are doing everything in our power to ensure that our neighbors in Fort Hood are taken care of as they endure the aftermath of this heartbreaking attack.”
