Robert Bushy got some hands-on experience with new spring looks at the Vidal Sassoon International Masters course in London. |
Robert Bushy, hairstylist at ANiU Salon in Madison, Wisconsin and former NAHA finalist, was recently chosen from a select group of hairstylists worldwide to attend the Vidal Sassoon International Masters course in London.
Bushy sent us his take on spring and summer hair styles, which, he says, represents a departure from the previous season's soft, glamorous and sexy looks. Cropped hair and off-kilter silhouettes add drama. "Faces are not symmetrical. Very strong fringes that frame the face, layers with contrasting lengths and colors that combine a mix of warm and cool natural tones," says Bushy, "are part of spring's new looks."
Bushy is also seeing a lot of chemically enhanced texture, and in-salon hair conditioning treatments that will revitalize winter-weary hair. Men's hair styles will benefit from both classic barbering techniques and disheveled layering.
"The looks will pair well with spring's bold, bright fashion palettes," Bushy adds.

Short cropped and off-kilter is how Bushy describes some of spring's new looks. | A mix of layering and multi-application colors will be a staple of spring styles, says Bushy. |
