Bio Ionic’s KeraSmooth Anti-Frizz Treatment from Bio Ionic offers a smoother, sleeker look for frizzy clients. “It is formaldehyde free, does not need a neutralizer, and just one swipe from a flatiron at 400 degrees to seal the treatment,” says Fernando Romero, creator of the product. For our virgin-haired model looking for a straight finish, the treatment was left on for 25 – 30 minutes. For just defrizzing, the treatment should stay on for 5 – 10 minutes.
1. Cleanse the hair with a clarifying shampoo. Section the hair in quadrants. Pull out ½-inch sections and spray on iFixx, a hydrating strengthener.
2. Comb through using a wide-tooth comb.
3. Begin application of KeraSmooth Anti-Frizz Treatment on damp hair, ¼-inch from the root.
4. Draw through the mid shaft, to just above the ends.
5. Process for 20 minutes (this depends on texture and curl) and apply more KeraSmooth and draw through to the ends.
6. You must do a strand test. Process for an additional 5 – 10 minutes once pulled through to the ends. Total 30 minutes application.
7. Rinse for 7 – 10 minutes until the water runs clear. Shampoo.
8. Blow dry ½-inch sections over a large round brush.
9. Flatiron to seal the hair using the OnePass Straightening Iron at 350 – 400 degrees. Run down ½-inch sections one time, working from root to end.
10. For a second look, take a jumbo curl rod. Hold vertically and shape.
11. For some sections, the ends are secured in the iron, while for other sections the ends remain loose. Clients must not shampoo for three days and must condition regularly.
