If there is one “bad” thing about America’s Beauty Show, it’s that there is just so much to do and see, that I find myself hurrying like crazy around the floor to catch everything. I have a ways to go, but here is just a snapshot of some of the things going on.

The Scruples’ booth was a big draw with models sporting vivid and dramatic color. The company also had it new Illusionist Highlights hair coloring line.

Every year I have to go listen to David Guerin at the Oster booth. He is a master cutter and his on stage presence is a hoot. Always interesting, informative and entertaining.

I was shouldering my way through the mob and came across some charming Logics models lighting up the Matrix area with gorgeous hair color and interesting period dress.

I love the fact that the appliance companies set up try-it-yourself kiosks with dryers, curling and flat irons.  Lots of cautionary signs about tools at full heat, but I’ve never seen anyone get burned—just have a great time trying stuff on their own hair.

One of the hardest working men in show business—beauty show that is, is Michael O’Rourke. I visited Michael’s booth at closing time, but the new Michael O’Rourke Hair stage was going strong. Michael had been cutting hair and styling and charming the crowd all day and only a rousing musical finale and a promise to be back the next day finally broke up the crowd. Michael is surrounded with a great team to help him spread the message of his new product line.
