She's worked on editorial assignments for Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Allure, Elle and Glamour From 1989 to 1997 she consulted for the Aveda Corporation as creative director of cosmetics and in 1998 her beauty brand was created in partnership with Target stores.

Who are we talking about? Sonia Kashuk, superstar make-up artist who has also been presented with the prestigious Cosmetic Executive Woman Achiever Award in honor of her dedication to beauty. If you missed last week's Modern Salon TV episode then you missed some of Sonia's make-up tips! Have no worries, because you can still watch it right now!

Here are some tips offered by Kashuk:

Tip 1: Have a pristine and clean make-up kit. Get rid of any cracked make-up and keep your trays clean. Everything should be spotless looking!

Tip 2: Wash your brushes after every use. The more you wash your brushes, they will become softer and feel better. Sonia tells us in the episode that her used brushes are always kept in a separate pack. She also washes them and lays them flat every night.

Tip 3: It's all about the texture of your brushes. Sonia says that you can determine the quality of a brush by how it feels. She uses synthetic brushes for applying creams, and she uses natural brushes for powders. According to Sonia, natural brushes have better absorption and hold the powder better.
