Last year's America's Beauty Show Business Forum
led salon and spa owners into a deep understanding of the
beauty client's mind. The journey continues Sunday, March 13,
at McCormick Place in Chicago during ABS 2011 with "Smart
Thinking-Straight Talk, A Salon and Spa Owner Dialog." Presented
by ABS and P&G Salon Professional, and powered
by multi-media partner SALON TODAY, the forum includes
three sessions to share information and ideas on how to grow
your business and gain more of clients' beauty dollars.
Part 1 Consumer Segmentation:
Successful salon owners, consumer-shopping experts and beauty
editors explore the spending habits of today's clients. Rueben
Carranza, CEO of P&G Salon Professional, kicks off the forum
by explaining why it's important to segment your clients, then
Mark Komanecky, P&G shopper based design manager, delves
into P&G's vast consumer research to expose salon client segments
and shopper-based design. An incredible "Salon Owner
and Consumer Beauty Editor Panel" shares insights on each client
segment. On tap for this panel are owners Janine Jarman of
Hairroin Salon, Hollywood, CA; Larry Silvestri of Mario Tricoci Salons
and Spas; Marcy Cona of MC Hair Consultants in Cuyahoga
Falls, OH; and Ginger Boyle of Planet Salon, Beverly Hills, CA; as
well as beauty editors from magazines such as Allure, Self, TCW
(Today's Chicago Women) and Marie Claire. John Moroney, vice
president of business development for P&G Salon Professional,
will moderate the morning's session.
Part 2 Learning Lunch:
The lunch session allows attendees to network with peers and
share their own client insights and what they've done to bring back.
Part 3 Salon Owner as Sustainable Leader:
The afternoon session exposes salon owners and managers to
the day-in/day-out strategies of being a leader and demonstrating
some guiding principles required to sustain those behaviors. Neil
Ducoff, founder and CEO of Strategies, will talk to owners about
"No-Compromise Leadership" and Jim Lafferty, a former P&G
manager and current managing director of Nigerian Bottle Company,
will pass on his rules of "Work/Life Balance for Leaders."
The event is a must for salon owners looking to grow business
in 2011. Tickets for the Business Forum are available at
americasbeautyshow.com and include four continuing education
units and a one-year membership in Cosmetologists Chicago.
