America's Beauty Show  organizers have confirmed that 375 companies and brands exhibited during the three-day event, March 12-14, 2011, in downtown Chicago. According to show organizers, there were 62,857 salon professional admissions over three days, plus 15,073 in the exhibitor personnel, representing a 9 percent increase over final 2010 show data.

Additionally, the total net square footage for ABS 2011 totaled 196,678 (including 70 educational workshops offering continuing education and 102 product knowledge classes). With these figures, America's Beauty Show ranks among the top 10 events held at McCormick Place convention center.

"We are proud that so many professional beauty companies, along with the salon professionals they service, support America's Beauty Show and believe in its industry legacy," said Paul Dykstra, CEO of Cosmetologists Chicago, the 7,000-member independent association that owns America's Beauty Show.

Participating exhibitors included L'Oreal Professional (Redken, Matrix, Pureology, L'Oreal Professionnel and Mizani brands), P&G Salon Professional (Clairol Professional, Nioxin, Sebastian and Wella brands), John Paul Mitchell Systems, TIGI, Pravana, Aquage and many companies of varying sizes and categories.

There was also an appearance by hair icon Vidal Sassoon, in conjunction with the release of the documentary of his life, Vidal Sassoon The Movie, which premiered at the Cadillac Palace Theater on March 12 in downtown Chicago.

According to Cosmetologists Chicago President Frank Gironda of Frank Gironda Salon & Spa in Naperville, Illinois, for 86 years, America's Beauty Show has been "the annual event that continually helps beauty professionals build careers and businesses."
