Last week, we talked to Orlando Pita about Kate Winslet's platinum pixie cut. Her look turned a few heads, but she's not the only celeb going short and blonde-in fact, the look has caught fire around Hollywood recently (see the look on some of our favorite stars, below!). We talked to international haircolor artist and stylist Marco Pelusi, based out of Marco Pelusi Hair Studio in West Hollywood, California, about how the starworthy trend is trickling down to salon clients. "It's a feeling out there right now; I have already had requests to go short and lighter." It's been a long time coming, too. "Frankly, Sharon Stone started this trend years ago with her short blonde hair," he says.

This no-fuss, easy maintenance cut will be popular in the salon this season, predicts Pelusi. His picks for favorite cuts: "I like Ashlee's; it's so beautifully layered, and it's really short, and she can wear it. It's glamorous." On the other hand, he adds, "I think Cate's could be improved by more layering and more texturizing. It's too solid."
