Hair Expo Australia 2011 brought the world's top names in hairdressing to Sydney recently on June 11-13 at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre. International icons like AVEDA's Global Artistic Director Antoinette Beenders; the Sassoon Global Artistic Team; Redken’s Global Artistic Director, Sam Villa; and Australian favorites like Sharon Blain, Jayne Wild, Lee Preston, and Pivot Point shared their globally revered creativity at seminars and workshops over the Expo weekend.
Sunday opened with the Goldwell-sponsored Building Better Business Breakfast in the morning, followed by an upclose and personal lunch with the founder of TIGI, Anthony Mascolo. During the afternoon, globally renowned Alan Austin Smith shared his secrets to success in “Fantastic Hairdresser” and Ian Stephen’s session tackled how to manage and motivate Gen Y.

Sunday night kicked off with the Generation Next Gala which included a series of ten platform shows, showcasing the hottest talents. Monday night, the 2011 Schwarzkopf Professional Hair Expo Awards show wrapped up the weekend with a bang.
The largest hairdressing industry event in the southern hemisphere, this show offered 10,000 meters of exhibition space, 25 seminars and hands-on workshop sessions for 300 to 600 guests. In all there were three gala evening events, as well as an awards ceremony.
