MODERN Makeover challenged Anthony Lombardi, owner of Anthony Robert Salon of Verona, New Jersey, and make-up artist Olivia Blois Sharpe to create a “Jersey Club Look” on the Style Network’s newest Jerseylicious cast member, Jacquelina Bianchi. For this look, Lombardi demonstrated a foil high/lowlighting with a gentle root bump. “In this case I did a partial highlight toward the front and in the crown, with a few scattered lowlights throughout. The root was lifted slightly for a little depth along the parting.” Photo by Roberto Ligresti

Place highlights in horizontal foils in the front, along the rounds and in the crown. In the back, scatter foil demi lowlights, in the same medium weave. Formula: 7/13 Gloss Collection, a golden ash blonde, with dedicated developer.

For the last 10 minutes, place a permanent shade of high-lift blonde along the root, between the foils to lift slightly. Root bump formula: Lakme 11/10 Super Blonding with 30-volume developer. Process for 45 minutes. Shampoo and condition the hair.

For volume, backcomb the base at the crown and add a chip-in extension under the backcombing. Top with a headband—Lombardi used a mask placed asymmetrically. TOOLS: BioIonic blower and Style Winder; Hot Tools curling iron.

From Foiled and Damaged To Luscious Red

Maggie Mulhern | October 1, 2017

"This client had been doing full foils for years, and her hair showed it," says Tiffinie Morton (@hairbytiffinie). "We had been working on getting her hair healthier and decided to try something new. She initially wanted to go to a warm level 5 but I talked her into trying this to ease her into being darker since she had been blonde for so long." Details here.

Maggie Mulhern | September 22, 2017

"This was her first time in my chair," says Rachael Monahan (@Rachael_Monahan) of Jyl Craven Hair Design, Canton, Georgia. "She decided she needed a big change to find her herself a romance! She said 'Make it short, sexy, and all one color!' I said 'LET'S DO IT!'" Details for the makeover here.
