PBA Announces New Fall Dates for 2012 ISSE Midwest Show

August 7, 2011 | 7:30 PM

PBA Announces New Fall Dates for 2012 ISSE Midwest ShowThe Professional Beauty Association (PBA) has announced that the ISSE (International Salon and Spa Expo) Midwest event is moving from the spring to fall season starting in 2012. The 2012 ISSE Midwest event will now be held November 4 - 5, 2012. ISSE Midwest will continue to be held in Rosemont, Illinois (Chicago area) and, as with all PBA shows and events, all profits will be reinvested back into the industry in the form of education, research, networking forums, government affairs and more. The decision to move dates comes from extensive post-event research, which exhibited a market need for a large-scale beauty event, such as ISSE Midwest, in the fall season. The decision was reinforced by ISSE Midwest show supporters.

"After conducting surveys and research surrounding the ISSE Midwest event and market needs in that region, it was clear that a fall show makes sense for the entire industry," says Eric Horn, PBA's Associate Executive Director of Business Development. "As the industry's leading not-for-profit association, we listen to our members and we strive to ensure that our programs and events meet their business needs."

Everything You Need to Know About the Goldwell Color Zoom Competition

Alison Alhamed | October 1, 2017

Color Zoom 101: Every year, Goldwell releases a trend collection that is used as the inspiration for its annual haircolor and style competition, Color Zoom. Across the globe, Color Zoom starts on a national level. Beauty pros compete in three categories— Creative Colorist, New Talent Colorist, Partner Colorist—by submitting a photo of their interpretation of the trend. Once the Gold winners of each category are determined on a national level, they go on to compete internationally on behalf of their respective countries during a live recreation of the look on their model—including the hair color—in front of a judging panel and audience. The international leg of the competition takes place in a new city each year.
