Women of Beauty: Colleen MartoranoFirst job in beauty: Charles Scott Salon and Spa in Rocky River, OH, 1995
Licensed: Remington College, Cleveland, OH 1996

Three highlights of your career:

1. The first time I was booked 6 weeks in advance

2. The day I realized what you say makes a big impact on young hairdressers

3. Having the opportunity to share what I know on a global scale at GKhair (VTB)

Beauty legend you respect: Estee Lauder. I admire her for her vision. She proved that anything is possible for a women if you truly believe in what you are doing. She knew that she had something amazing to offer to the world and her character shows through that. In the 1940's a women could talk NYC department stores into carrying her brand as well as the rich and famous to use her products. What I love most about Estee Lauder is her uncompromising belief in the beauty of all women.

Choose beauty because: You can customize your career to reflect your personality and lifestyle, whether that's in the salon a few days a week, platform artist traveling the globe,  or as executive at a beauty company.

Quote or mantra: "There's no use in trying, said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."-Lewis Carroll
