Two time honoree for Modern Salon’s Excellence in Education, Bellus Academy, and their partner in success, P&G Salon Professionals (PGSP), joined forces for an inspiring evening event at Bellus on Feb. 13.

Lynelle Lynch, Bellus Academy President, invited salon owners to a presentation and demonstration that highlighted the work being done at Bellus and the excellence of its education. Many of the attendees were already involved in the Bellus Externship Program whereby students visit, observe and train in participating salons. This demonstration of Bellus’ capabilities and PGSP’s serious commitment to the emerging professional was praised by Christopher Dove, owner of The Dove’s Studio in Santa Monica, who said, I’ve never experienced a learning environment like this. Students in the Bellus Externship program get to see the absolute best in the industry. They have the confidence that comes with spending time in these salons. Also, I give credit to P&G for having the foresight to be in an academy like this.”

On hand from PGSP were Reuben Carranza, North American Leader, and Sally Schoen of PGSP.

As a demonstration of the alignment between Bellus and PGSP, the four Wella Professionals’ Trend Vision hair trends were interpreted by Bellus Artistic Director and Wella Top Stylist, Diego Raviglione, who was joined on stage by: Fabio Sementilli , P&G Salon Professional Creative and Technical Director; Nick Berardi , Wella Professionals Top Stylist; and Carrera Bailey, Bellus Academy Lead Colorist. They were each responsible for recreating one of the four trends-- Grace, Roxy, Blaze and Celeste—while Bailey commented on the color for each.

Towards the close of the presentation, Lynch challenged guests to go further in their support of beauty schools by working with the non-profit Beauty Changes Lives. In 2012, Beauty Changes Lives will be giving $100,000 in scholarships.
