FASHION WEEK: Jon Reyman for Aveda at Betsey Johnson

Maggie Mulhern | February 14, 2012 | 9:14 AM

Betsey Johnson offers the happiest show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and Jon Reyman (for Aveda) was “thrilled to have the honor” to create 2 60′s inspired finishes to complement the fashions. The sleek, clean and straight looks were created with three Aveda products: Smooth Infusion and Volumizing Tonic and Control Force, and Babyliss tools. “This hair is healthy and young,” Jon told me before one last model walked through the door for her transformation. “One look has a center part and is then flat ironed for a smooth finish. The other has a side part and side braid.” While the Betsey designs were, as always, breathtaking, the hair was loose, free and fun….very Betsey!

Everything You Need to Know About the Goldwell Color Zoom Competition

Alison Alhamed | October 1, 2017

Color Zoom 101: Every year, Goldwell releases a trend collection that is used as the inspiration for its annual haircolor and style competition, Color Zoom. Across the globe, Color Zoom starts on a national level. Beauty pros compete in three categories— Creative Colorist, New Talent Colorist, Partner Colorist—by submitting a photo of their interpretation of the trend. Once the Gold winners of each category are determined on a national level, they go on to compete internationally on behalf of their respective countries during a live recreation of the look on their model—including the hair color—in front of a judging panel and audience. The international leg of the competition takes place in a new city each year.
