Snooki

Introducing: the duckbill nail. The MTV “Jersey Shore” star—and rumored expectant Jersey mom—has made a habit of tweeting photos of these unique tips she has designed in Jersey and wore them often to appearances in 2011. She even hinted at the possibility of a nail polish line in the works late last year. But Snooki has kept things rather simple in the past few months, usually opting for basic red or black polish. Think we’ll ever see this kind of flair on her fingers again if there is, indeed, a mini-Snooki running around in a few months?

Rihanna

Now, to clarify, Rihanna’s finger flair is nothing new. The trendsetter has been sporting interesting and fun nails for years, and she was one of the early few celebs to kickstart the stiletto nail movement back in 2010. But never one to be outdone by her style followers, Rihanna put her money where her fingers are, literally, with a gold manicure for the Grammys that reportedly cost upwards of $5,000. Her LA nail stylist, Kimmie Kyees, who also works with stars like Katy Perry and Pink, used Red Carpet Manicure’s Amor 24 Gel Polish that contains a full ounce of 24K gold and sells for $5,000 per bottle. Worth it?

Could you imagine the “New Girl” star rocking some stiletto nails? Neither can we. So we’re glad she sticks to funky designs on her natural nails that stay true to her personality. In addition to these adorable tuxedo nails she wore to the 2012 Golden Globes, she also donned “typewriter nails” at the 2012 Writer’s Guild Awards. (Tip: Are you following Zooey on Instagram or Twitter? She almost always shares her fun designs there first!)

Demi Lovato

The Disney comeback kid landed on the February 2012 cover of Seventeen magazine with a new attitude—and some fierce nails. Also a fan of the stiletto look, Demi has stuck to basic black or reds. But keep your eyes peeled: Maybe we’ll see her venturing out and rocking some fun prints and designs on the red carpet this year?

Lady Gaga

We know—wild nails are kind of an afterthought when it comes to taking notice of Lady Gaga’s adventurous styles. But the queen of the Little Monsters does like to experiment with gems and designs (also on a stiletto nail) when she’s not wearing long gloves or performing. (As Adele mentioned in her “60 Minutes” interview, you can’t exactly play the piano when you’re rocking longer tips.) This is a tamer look she wore when spotted out and about recently.

Katy Perry

Remember those incredibly intricate Smurfs nails Katy showed off at the premiere of the “Smurfs” movie last year? Themed and even portrait nails are nothing new for the pop star, but our interest was piqued with her subtle but shiny nails at the Grammys last month. If you’re looking for a fun spin on the French tip for your client, you can’t go wrong with some bling like Katy’s.

Why spend the big bucks for a pair of red-soled Christian Louboutin heels when you could just get the effect on your nails? It was hard not to notice Adele’s beautifully sparkly silver, lengthy nails at the Grammys, but upon further inspection, there was much more to her nail design. The flipside of her nails, the inside, were painted red, which is actually referred to as the “Christian Louboutin Manicure.” Celebrity nail stylist Mike Pocock created the look with Ciate Paint Pots in “Jewel” and “Mistress.Seen a resurgence of interest from your clients in fun and wild nail designs?
