To showcase fashion silhouettes, runways tend to feature hair that is up, and off the face and neck. Inspired by the concept, Redken Education Artistic Director Sam Villa took up and off to another level.
For this shoot, on which Villa paired up with Redken colorist Geneva Cowen, ponytails, buns and faux hawks were designed with urban chic accents like blunt edges, angular lines, exaggerated silhouettes and faux fringe for more punch.
Temporary and unnatural color often seen on the runways Cowen translated to vintage washed color with unexpected placement to create drama and interest.
