In this newly-created role, Moody will develop protocols for educator training and standards, working globally and in conjunction with P&G North America Salon Professional Creative and Technical Director Fabio Sementilli and North America Education Director Carole Protat on this continent.

A more than 30-year veteran of the Sassoon Salon and Academy organization, Moody was most recently International Executive Director of Vidal Sassoon Education. A respected figure on stages and classrooms from Asia to Africa to Europe to North America, he joined Vidal Sassoon in 1980 as a salon apprentice and rapidly chose an academic career track in the Vidal Sassoon Schools and Academies. While working at Vidal Sassoon in London, he traveled to Italy, Spain, Malaysia, Germany, Sweden and Hong Kong to share the “Sassoon way” of cutting hair.
In 1987 he was named Principal of the Vidal Sassoon Academy and School of Cosmetology in Santa Monica, CA. In addition to his duties there, over the next decade he opened Sassoon Education centers in Toronto, San Francisco and Miami Beach while traveling across North America to inspire and educate in shows and seminars. Most recently, he opened the successful Chicago Sassoon Academy.
Moody was named International Executive Director of Sassoon Academies in 2001, with responsibility for all Sassoon education globally. He developed the definitive hair sculpting course, “abc: Cutting Hair the Sassoon Way,” developed, pioneered and launched the innovative Sassoon Academy- School Connection program in the U.S. and in Australia, and was a member of the working group that developed the Wella Professionals cutting system.
Moody was a judge for the Global Salon Business Awards in Barcelona and Hollywood as well as a founding member of “Beauty Changes Lives,” a grassroots industry movement to elevate and highlight the diversity of career options afforded to beauty school graduates.
Moody has been devoted to education throughout his entire career and was literally born into the industry--his mother was one of Vidal Sassoon’s first students and he is looking forward to continuing to make an impact on current and future generations of salon professionals.
“It was apparent to me that everyone at P&G Salon Professional is moving to be in the forefront of education,” Moody said. “This new role will allow me to maximize my 32 years of experience to continue to build the company’s educational momentum and to assist in elevating the bar in a craft that is so dear to me.
“I am especially excited about working with Global Education Leader Michelle Mason at the world headquarters in Geneva, and of course with my colleagues Fabio and Carole in North America, to learn and to build P&G Salon Professional education,” he continued. “I can’t wait to get started.”
Moody lives in Malibu, California, with his wife Maria and children Chase, Catcher and Cora Lynn. He will split his time between North America P&G Salon Professional headquarters in Woodland Hills, California, and the P&G Global Salon Professional headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
