“True Blood” fans: You’ve been waiting all year for the series’ return, and it’s finally back. Aside from the usual antics from the Bon Temps vampires and other mystical creatures, the show’s front-runner, Sookie Stackhouse, also returns with her usual, lust-worthy blonde waves.

As the Hair Department Head Stylist for the HBO series, Dennis Parker sums up how he creates movement and shine in Anna Paquin’s casual but polished style—when it’s not in a ponytail on screen—with White Sands products and a little help from a curling iron:

Fangtastic Styles: The Ladies of 'True Blood' “For voluminous waves, I like to start out by applying a volumizing styling mousse from roots to ends to give the hair body and hold. Then, I spray White Sands Liquid Texture Firm Hold Thermal Styling Spray on each individual section that I am about to curl. Liquid Texture has incredible memory to provide long-lasting waves with a flexible hold infused with amazing shine, which is exactly what I need for long hours on set. I follow by using a large round-barreled curling iron and finish the style by running my fingers gently throughout the hair for maximum volume.”

Anna’s waves on the show don’t differ too much from the sexy styles she wears on the red carpets. Let’s check out a few more fangtastic looks from outside of Bon Temps by the ladies featured in the fifth season that premiered in June.

Deborah Ann Woll

Much like also beloved famous redhead Christina Hendricks, Deborah Ann is actually a natural blonde. How do you recreate such a natural-looking hue for your client? Combine red or copper shades with gold to reduce the intensity, says Joico Vero K-PAK International Creative Director Sue Pemberton.

Janina Gavankar

Starring as shapeshifter and Sam’s love interest Luna on the show, Janina it’d be an understatement to say she turns heads off-set and on the red carpet. Stylist Anna Silverstein said Janina wanted a “’90s supermodel-esque ’do” for this look she worked at the 2012 New Now Next Awards.
