How many of you have dogs with long fur that’s just waiting to be colored? Color Master Guy Tang decided to take the leap of faith and color a very special model close to his heart – his dog MiMi! In this video, Tang chose to use semi-permanent turquoise and pink hair color, large foils and doggy shampoo and conditioner to wash out the product. And, he even shows you how to create dimension on your pet’s tail as well!

“Since the hair color is away from her scalp you don’t have to worry about anything. I decided to use a semi-permanent color. Don’t worry the fur with always grow back!”

STEP 1: Section off your pet’s hair naturally. In the video, Tang starts with turquoise at the top and paints the bottom of the tail pink. When the turquoise and pink mix together they create a blended violet shade between the two colors.

STEP 2: Use large foils. Overlay each section with a large piece of foil. Switch back and forth between pink, blue and then ombre piece of hair. See the video for more details. Get close to the scalp when applying the color, but don’t let it touch!

STEP 3: The tail is easy to rinse because the colors won’t bleed together. Put your pet in the sink and wash off the color with lukewarm water. Let the blue color rinse off first then rinse the pink. Rinse until the water is as clear as possible.

STEP 4: Wash the fur with doggy shampoo and conditioner.

STEP 5: Show off your pet to others!
