Heidi Porath (@tampahairstylist), owner of Serendipity Salon and Spa, Tampa, Florida, charged $215 for this classic bob with classic highlights which took about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Here she offers the formulation and application technique:

Mix 5.8 & 6.8 Rusk Deep Shine Pure Pigments with 20 volume "the Chocolate formula".

Mix Blondor by Wella with 30 volume to lift 3 levels for highlights.

How To:

Step 1: Apply Blondor by Wella blended with 30 volume developer in foil for highlights.  "I used my usual foiling pattern to create the multi dimensional effect. This is achieved by leaving a quarter inch space in between the foils so you can see the chocolate bleeding through."
Step 2: To the root area apply 5.8 & 6.8 Rusk Deep Shine Pure Pigments mixing equal parts.
Step 3: Apply the same formula to the ends, applying the color between the foils.

Step 4: Process 35 minutes, rinse and shampoo. No toner necessary.

From Foiled and Damaged To Luscious Red

Maggie Mulhern | October 1, 2017

"This client had been doing full foils for years, and her hair showed it," says Tiffinie Morton (@hairbytiffinie). "We had been working on getting her hair healthier and decided to try something new. She initially wanted to go to a warm level 5 but I talked her into trying this to ease her into being darker since she had been blonde for so long." Details here.
