There are a couple of careers that don't always lend themselves to glamorous foot attire. If you want to be comfy and safe, working in a restaurant and working in a salon are two of those jobs.

According to shiftgig.com, Vans just rolled out some of their signature slip-ons with a twist; the shoes feature spill-resistant coating, additional cushioning for long hours on your feet and high-traction soles.

Currently, the new, durable kicks are only available to Chef Tyler Kord (owner of Brooklyn restaurants No. 7, No. 7 North, and No. 7 Sub) and his staff. Kord wrote to Vans and asked for a kitchen-friendly shoe designed by the brand, and they responded in kind.

But we can't help but think, wouldn't these be great for stylists, too? With just as many hours standing and similar issues pertaining to wet floors, these seem like a great marriage of comfort, convenience and cool. Maybe it's time to start drafting your own fan mail for Vans!
