Stairway to Style

“This huge, fluffy afro was a wig I saw in the window of my favorite wig shop in New York City, and just had to have it,” Jessee says. “The texture is amazing!”

Fresh off the stage with the Intercoiffure artistic team, editorial stylist Sherri Jessee was in New York City and connected with photographer Jason Setiawan, who suggested an on-location shoot. After hair and makeup, Jessee, Setiawan, the models and team loaded up all of their gear and marched deep into Central Park for the shoot at Bethesda Terrace. The terrace was one of the very first structures built in Central Park; with construction beginning in 1859, continuing throughout the Civil War, and completed in 1863. “The entire team was inspired by the magical day,” Jessee says.
